Jeff received his graduate training at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. He has held administrative positions in education for over 21 years and actively supports the integration of new models of science instruction into VUSD high school science curricula through a number of initiatives. Jeff is an active member of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

Debbie received her graduate training in the field of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Beginning in 1998, she was elected for three consecutive four-year terms on the Ventura Unified School District (VUSD) Board of Education. Over the last 12 years, she has gained an intimate knowledge of best practices in education and has developed considerable experience in education policy-making. She also possesses extensive knowledge of educational literature that addresses studies, models, outcomes/impacts, and assessments relevant to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) curricula. To enhance teaching and learning in the VUSD, Debbie has worked tirelessly with her colleagues to establish strong and productive working relationships among parents, administrators, teachers, and community members. Debbie is heavily invested in the Ventura community and devotes her time to a variety of community organizations, including the Ventura Education Partnership, the Arts Education Advocacy Collaboration, the Coordinated School Health Council, the Ventura County Anti Defamation League, the Rubicon Theater Education Outreach Committee, the Community Commission of Ventura County, a LEAN VC, the Ventura Integrated Resource Initiative Partnership, and the VUSD Budget Advisory Committee.

Cathy conducted her graduate studies at the University of Washington in the field of educational communication and technology. She possesses extensive experience in differentiated instructional design, in the creation of distributed online working environments, and in providing teacher/student training for a variety of top-flight educational projects, including the National Science Foundation-funded Ocean Explorers and Coastlines projects. As a long-standing and active member of both the National Science Teacher’s Association (NSTA) and the California Science Teachers Association (CSTA), Cathy is extremely knowledgeable in current pedagogies relevant to standards-based learning and assessment.
