During each program session, guest scientists and other professionals visit CMB and enthusiastically share their invaluable experience, insights, and knowledge with our students through engaging, interactive seminars and discussions. This important facet of our curriculum is designed to broaden the scope of the CMB experience and bolster our efforts to:
- heighten student awareness of the rich variety of environmental, cultural, historical, political, and socioeconomic issues and interdependencies encompassing the California’s northern Channel Islands, the Santa Barbara Channel, and surrounding areas
- expose students to the career perspectives of outside experts from a variety of scientific and professional settings
- introduce students to prominent scientists who are actively engaged in cutting-edge research related to CMB’s program topics
CMB is actively seeking partnerships to expand the educational breadth its learning opportunities through the establishment of a real-time webcasting environment that will connect CMB, its educational activities, and its students to a number of participating classrooms, teachers, and outside professionals.
